Firefighters were called to the home at 2:33 p.m. Sunday. Resident Beverly
Hayes said about 30 minutes after she heard her son pull up on the scooter, she heard a loud boom and saw flames in the back.

Randy Way said the cause is still under
investigation. Damage was confined to the back door and attic, he said.
