Honorees for 2006 named

– High Point Fire Department Capt. Kevin Hauser stressed that some circumstances be­yond their control had to break right for he and oth­er fi refi ghters in saving a cardiac-arrest victim’s life last year.
“A lot of it is the luck of the draw,” he said. “I’m sure if (other firefighters) had been there, the outcome would have been the same.”
In a ceremony last month, the fire depart­ment recognized firefight­ers involved in six lifesav­ing incidents during 2006. They are: • Capt. Shawn Yacuzzo, Fire Equipment Operator Doug Mac Lean, FEO Tom Sharpe and firefighters Da­vid Stanley and Scott Hamp­ton, for a CPR save.
• Capt. Steve Cross, Capt. Mike Foster, FEO Doug Mac Lean and firefighters Ryan Way, Joey Feree and Jermey Simpson, for a CPR save.
• Capt. Craig Peacock, FEO Burt Blakely and fi re­ fighters Jessie Gainey and Matt Ritter, for a CPR save.
• Capt. Keith Anderson, FEO Chris Hendricks and firefighters Jason Brinkley, Daniel Barham and Charles Jordan, for a CPR save in­volving a trauma victim.
• Capt. Kevin Hauser, FEO Joseph Bradshaw, FEO Chris Hendricks and firefighters Michael Shan­non, Charles Jordan and Jason Jenkins, for a CPR save.
• Capt. Rick Maness, Capt. John Griggs and firefighters Larry Dotson, Brian Bull­ock and Michael Stewart, for a CPR save.
