There
is very little difference, if any, between most power saw cutting blades. For
example aluminum oxide and silicone carbide blades, both composite (made up of
glued materials) blades, are very similar in appearance.
Each
blade will operate at maximum efficiency when used to cut its designated
material. To ensure correct blade use,
maximum efficiency and optimal safety at all power saw operations, silicone
carbide blades are to be color coded in the following manner.
Silicone Carbide Blades (concrete
cutting) shall be painted with an 8”
YELLOW circle. This allows the company
to identify a blade easily, and to identify a blade that is under the required
8” in diameter for use.

EXAMPLE

Both sides of the blade shall be
painted to facilitate choice of proper blade.
Aluminum Oxide Blades (metal cutting)
shall be painted in a similar manner.
Metal cutting blades are to be painted with a WHITE 8” circle.
