Bomb scare closes Main Street
Police blow up suspicious
package
ENTERPRISE STAFF REPORT
HIGH POINT – A suspicious
package had police on alert Saturday afternoon.
Officers were called to a UPS drop box
near 319 N. Main St.
by witnesses reporting a suspicious package hanging out of the top.
According to a statement, initial reports indicated the package was possibly
a bomb.

Point police cordoned off the downtown area along
Main Street,
stretching from Church Avenue
to Kivett Drive,
and rerouted traffic for about four hours.
The Greensboro Bomb Squad examined the
package before detonating it as a safety precaution, police said.
